Willie E. Polk

Willie E. Polk, 87, of Shelbyville, IL, formerly of Windsor, IL, passed away at 2:27 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at his daughter's home surrounded by his loving family.

Willie was born April 12, 1933, in Douglas, AR, the son of John and Adele (Yancey) Polk. Willie married Dorothy Hardesty and from that union they were blessed with two daughters: Carol and Cheryl. Willie and Edith Clow were married on September 25, 1977 and were blessed with 42 years of marriage. Willie worked as a welder. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Olney. He enjoyed fishing, hunting mushrooms, playing cards and spending time with his loved ones.

Surviving are his wife, Edith Polk of Shelbyville; daughters: Carol (Dave) Harrelson of Windsor and Cheryl (John) Wright of Windsor; three stepsons: Billy (Lori) Gibson of Texas, Michael (Marie) Gibson of Florida and Curt Gibson of Florida; five grandchildren: Joseph (Brandy) Price of Neoga, Kelli Shriver of Mattoon, Amber Griffin of Mattoon, Alisha Day of Beecher City and April (Aaron) Cole of Windsor; brothers: J.W. Polk of Mattoon and Billie Polk of Florida; sister, Sarah (Reggie) Martin of Florida and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: John Paul Polk and Dorvin Polk and one grandson, Jason Paxton.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home in Windsor. Family graveside services will take place at Windsor Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made in Willie's name to the Shelbyville Community Dialysis and sent to Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home, 207 N. Oak, Windsor, IL 61957.
