In Loving Memory of Shiela Ruth Davis,
Shiela Ruth Davis, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2024, in St. Marys, Georgia, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and generosity that touched the hearts of all who knew her. Born on April 16, 1933, in Shelbyville, Illinois, Shiela was the cherished daughter of Orville and Thelma (Hengst) Shiels.
Shiela's journey of love began with her marriage to Everette L. Davis on February 18, 1951. Their union was a testament to devotion, flourishing over 36 years until Everette's passing. Together, they raised a family of four sons: Steve (Tina) Davis of Reidsville, North Carolina, Scott (Judy) Davis of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Stan (Leigh Ann) Davis of St. Marys, Georgia, and Stewart (Tammy) Davis of Canton, Georgia. Shiela's role as a mother was one she treasured deeply, nurturing her sons with boundless love and wisdom that extended to her 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Shiela is survived by her descendants and brother Charles Shiels. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Everette; her parents, Guy and Thelma Baker; her sisters, Cecelia Getz and Mary Stout, and her brothers, Orville Shiels Jr. and Richard Shiels.
Graveside services to celebrate Shiela's life were held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Glenwood Cemetery in Shelbyville, Illinois. Pastor Mark Sanders officiated the service, honoring a life well-lived and a woman dearly loved. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville, Illinois assisted the family.
Shiela will be remembered for her grace, her kindness and for her enduring strength through life's challenges. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who have known her.
