Sharol L. (Horn) Sarver

Sharol L. Sarver, 92, of Herrick, IL, passed away peacefully, in her home, surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, August 20, 2022.  

Sharol was born on January 24, 1930, in Herrick, the daughter of Ralph and Tennessee (Ginger) Horn.  She married Russel Laverne Sarver on August 26, 1946 and they were blessed with 56 years of marriage before his passing on December 14, 2002.  Deeply devoted to family, Sharol was a loving and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and friend.  She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed camping and traveling with Russel after his retirement from the United States Army.  Sharol was a member of the Herrick American Legion Sarver-Guthrie Post 839 Auxiliary and the Herrick Church of Christ.  

She leaves behind her son, Larry (Lee Ann) Sarver of Herrick; daughter, Lisa Hardimon of Herrick; grandchildren:  Kevin (Becky) Hardimon of Herrick, Zachary (Lindsay) Sarver of Cowden, Ginger (Tim) Cardinal of Fort Polk, LA and Lora Christer of Girard; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Joan Sager of Shelbyville and sister-in-law, Genelle Horn of Moweaqua. 

Sharol was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter, Sherry Lynn; son-in-law, Martin Hardimon; grandson, Shawn Sarver; great-grandson, Jarrett Sarver; sister, Gerolea Horn; brothers:  Chester Horn and Terry “Butch” Horn. 

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2022, in Myers Cemetery in rural Herrick.  Memorials may be made to the Herrick American Legion Sarver-Guthrie Post 839 Auxiliary or Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10306 or https://www.t2t.org or mailed to Lockart-Green Funeral Home, 302 W.
