Richard "Rick" Alan McElroy

Richard “Rick” Alan McElroy, 63, of Anna, IL passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, in Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson, KY. 

Rick was born on January 18, 1959, in Shelbyville, the son of Halden Earl and Imogene (Pfeiffer) McElroy.  Rick lived most of his adult years in the Choate Mental Health Center in Anna and in the Dongola Nursing Home.  A special thank you to the staff and residents for their loving care and support provided to Rick and the extended family through the years.   

Rick will lovingly be remembered by his brother, James (Susan) McElroy of Shelbyville; sister, Mary High of Mt. Zion and four nieces and nephews:  Grant and Nathan McElroy of Madison, WI and Jordan and Sean High of Mt. Zion.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Private family services will be held in Tower Hill Cemetery where he will be laid to rest next to his parents.  Memorials may be made to Saving Orphaned Animals in Shelby County and mailed to Lockart-Green Funeral Home, 302 W. Main St., Shelbyville, IL 62565.  Lockart-Green Funeral Home is assisting the family.
