Penny Sue (McQueen) Riley

Penny Sue Riley, 59, of Windsor, IL, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023, in HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL with loved ones by her side.

Penny was born on February 13, 1963, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Robert and Trenna (Matheny) McQueen.  She was a 1981 graduate of Windsor High School.  Penny was a longtime employee at Graphic Packaging in Shelbyville for 37 years.  She was an active member of the Windsor American Legion Post 725 Auxiliary.  Penny was happiest when surrounded by family and friends.  She adored her grandchildren, nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews and treasured time spent with them.  Penny will be dearly missed by all that were blessed to be a part of her life.

Penny leaves behind her son, Cody (Mackenzie) Riley of Decatur; two grandchildren:  Norah and Maverick; brother, Alva McQueen of Windsor; sister, Cindy McQueen of Windsor; brother-in-law, Jim Splittorff and many nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers:  Dennis, Earl and Randy “Moe” McQueen and sister, Darlene Splittorff. 

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2023, in Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home in Windsor.  A private family burial in Windsor Cemetery will take place at a later date.  Memorials may be made in Penny’s name to Shelbyville Kidney Dialysis (checks made payable to Dialyze Direct) and mailed to Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home, P.O. Box 52, Windsor, IL 61957.
