Norma Jean (May) Smith

Norma Jean Smith, 94, of Beecher City, IL passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022, in the comfort of her home, with loved ones by her side. 

Norma was born on May 18, 1928, in Decatur, the daughter of Leo and Vera (Klepzig) May.  She married Nyle Harmon Smith on September 19, 1976, in Decatur, and they celebrated 27 years of marriage before his passing on February 18, 2004. Norma was a 1983 graduate of Olney Central College with an Associate Degree in Nursing.  She worked as a RN at the Lutheran Care Center in Altamont, Fayette County Hospital and Heartland Christian Village in Neoga. 

She is survived by her son, Richard (Ana) Anderson of Beecher City.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and son, David Wayne Anderson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2022, in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City.  Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.  Burial will take place in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.  Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City is assisting the family.
