Nida Ruth (Von Behren) Miller

Nida Ruth Von Behren Miller, 93, of Mode, IL, passed into the arms of her Savior on Wednesday, November 11, 2020.  

Nida was born on June 21, 1927, near Shelbyville, the daughter of August and Lydia (Tendler) Von Behren.  She was a graduate of Strasburg Community High School and was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Strasburg where she was confirmed in 1941.  Nida married George R. Miller on July 6, 1947.  

Surviving are her four daughters:  Linda (Bill) Rogers of Stewardson, Colleen Williams of Cowden, Leona (Larry) McKittrick of Shelbyville and Jackie (Danny) Forcum of Mode; nine grandchildren:  Jennifer Doyle, James (Cindy) Rogers, Jacob (Amanda) Rogers, Tammy (William) Carlock, Robin (Brad) Banning, Laura (Jason) Yost, Jared (Timeka) McKittrick, Lana (Marcus) Carter and Matt (Stacy) Forcum; 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. 

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; sister, Gervaise Von Behren; brother, August Von Behren Jr and son-in-law, Warren Williams. 

Private family services will be held with Reverend Joel Cluver officiating. Burial will take place in Stewardson Cemetery.  Memorials may be made in Nida’s name to the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Building Fund or the Stewardson Ambulance Service and mailed to Brummerstedt Funeral Home, %Nida Miller, 302 W. Main Street, Shelbyville, IL 62565.  Brummerstedt Funeral Home in Stewardson is assisting the family.
