Lorene Williams Obituary

Lorene Williams, 88, a cherished member of the Findlay community, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2023.

Born on October 27, 1934, in Gamaliel, KY, she was a woman of grace and resilience, who touched the lives of many with her caring nature and warm spirit.  Lorene spent several years working for The House that Jack Built in Findlay. She was also a longtime member of the Southern Baptist Church in Findlay, where she found solace, companionship, and spiritual fulfillment. Lorene had a fondness for simple pleasures. She enjoyed relaxing in her favorite rocking chair, a place of comfort and contemplation for her. She loved visiting with friends and family, always welcoming them with open arms and a radiant smile. Her home was often filled with laughter and warmth, a testament to her hospitable nature and loving heart.

Lorene is survived by her loving family: daughter, Debbie Elliott of Shelbyville; daughter-in-law, Debbie Williams of Findlay; four grandchildren: Cari (Greg) Rodman of Granbury, TX, Chastity Rodman and favorite canine, Raven of Superior, CO, Miranda (Ross) Layman of Newnan, GA and Michael (Molly) Williams of Shelbyville.  She was also the proud great-grandmother of five: Emory Layman, Rhett Layman, Austin Ryherd, Braden Ryherd and Arie Williams. Lorene is also survived by two sisters, Pauline Clark and Christine Strode, along with her brother, Divie Arterburn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herald and Iness (Comer) Arterburn; her husband of 22 years, Floyd Eugene Williams, who passed at an early age; daughter, Becky Jean Williams, who passed in infancy; son, Mike Eugene Williams, and seven siblings. Her family was her sanctuary, and she cherished each moment spent with them, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2023, in Findlay Cemetery.  Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville is assisting the family.
