Connie Bunns Obituary

Connie S. Walker Bunns, 76, of Beecher City, Illinois, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2024, at the Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Effingham, Illinois.

Born on November 25, 1947, in Effingham to Harry and Juliana (Hardiek) Walker. Connie grew up surrounded by the warmth of a close-knit family, and this foundation of love and support was a theme that she carried into her own life as a parent and grandparent. She is remembered with deep affection by her two devoted children, Barbara (John) Waters of Beecher City and Jack Lemar of Shumway. Connie's legacy continued to flourish through the lives of her adoring grandchildren, Sarah Lemar of Effingham, Kellie (Chris) Berg of St. Elmo, and Dacotah Waters of Beecher City, as well as her three great-grandchildren, Paisley Gardner, Fynlie Berg, and Grant Berg, who brought her immeasurable joy.

The bonds of family extended to her brothers, Jerry (Diane) Walker and Steve (Alice) Walker, both of Teutopolis, who join the family in mourning the loss of a sister whose presence was a source of happiness and comfort. While Connie was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Carol Kinnison, the memories they shared will continue to be cherished and celebrated by all who knew them.

Connie's life was marked by her unwavering commitment to her family. She treasured the time spent with her loved ones, and her children and grandchildren were the pride of her life. Her nurturing spirit and kind heart were evident in every hug, every shared laugh, and every word of encouragement she offered. The love she gave was the cornerstone of her family, and it will continue to resonate in their hearts forever.

In honoring Connie's wishes, no services will be held. Her family will carry forward her legacy by living out the values she instilled in them: the importance of family, the joy of togetherness, and the beauty of a life filled with love. Though her physical presence will be missed, the essence of who she was will never be forgotten.  Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City is assisting the family.
