Barbara Jean (Arnold) Flick

Barbara Jean Flick, 77, of Geneseo, IL, formerly of Windsor, IL, passed away at 1:40 p.m. on Monday, October 11, 2021, surrounded by her family and in the caring and loving community at Hillcrest Home in Geneseo, IL.

Barb was born on January 3, 1944, in Olney, the daughter of Phillip and Myrtle (Elledge) Arnold.  Barb and Thomas Flick Jr. were united in holy matrimony on May 19, 1962, in Mason, and celebrated 43 years of marriage before his passing on March 29, 2006.  She worked at Peace Meal through Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Care in Mattoon for ten years.  Barb loved visiting with friends, going to Southern Gospel concerts and to church. She collected cookbooks and silver-plated jewelry boxes, many of which she found at yard sales. During her time at Hillcrest Home, she kept herself busy making pictures for others and embroidering. One of her caretakers stated “She had a strength few women in a nursing home have. She knew what she wanted and what she did not. She definitely ran the race and never gave up!”

Barb was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who leaves behind her daughter, Tammie Sue McDaniel and husband (Rick) of Geneseo; granddaughter, Katelyn Peterson and husband (Dalton) of Chapin, SC; grandson, Nathan Konvicka of Geneseo; great-grandchildren: Adeline and Daniel; brother, Sam Martin (Prescila) of Fuquay-Varina, NC.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2021, in Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home in Windsor with Reverend Richard Eident officiating.  Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.  Burial will take place in Sand Creek Cemetery in Windsor.  Memorials may be given to Ash Grove Church and the Peace Meal Program and mailed to Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home, 207 N. Oak, Windsor, IL 61957.  Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home in Windsor is assisting the family.
