Nola G. Black, 65, of Shelbyville, IL, formerly of Cowden, IL, passed away at 4:45 a.m. on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at the Shelbyville Manor in Shelbyville, IL with her loved ones by her side.
Nola was born on February 15, 1954, in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of Walter and Ruth Eileen (Pettijohn) Thompson. Nola worked as a caregiver and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are her three children: Monica (Troy) Courtright of Shelbyville, IL, Heather Black of Shelbyville, IL and Walter (Regina Deitering) Black of Lakewood, IL; grandchildren: Zach (Kristin) Courtright, Trent (Lindsay) Courtright, Brandan Black and Eli Courtright; great-grandchildren: Austin and Abel Courtright; brothers: Barry (Jean) Thompson and Alan (Marilyn) Thompson; sister, Anna (Mark) Seely; sister-in-law, Karon Thompson and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Warren Thompson.
At Nola's request, there will be no services and her body will be donated for the advancement of science. Memorials may be made in Nola's name to any local charity. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville, IL is assisting the family.
