Millie Tarrant

Mildred "Millie" Alvena Tarrant, 99, of Effingham, IL, formerly of Stewardson, IL passed away at 5:14 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.

Millie was born on December 22, 1920, in Sigel, IL, the daughter of Preston and Emma (Ashenbremer) Beals. She owned and operated Millie's Café in Stewardson in the 1960's and later worked at Keller's Ramada Inn in Effingham. Millie loved to garden, feed the birds, read, quilt, embroider, work puzzles and spend time with her loving family.

Surviving are four daughters: Virginia Antrim of Effingham, Judy (Raymond) Habing of Effingham, Patricia (Bob) Bushue of Mason and Karen (William) Schaefer of Effingham; 11 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Ralph Beals of Effingham and Emil (Lee) Beals of Effingham; two sisters: Frances Kelly of Shumway and Rosalie Waller of Carbondale and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Frank Antrim; two grandchildren: Michael Habing and Tonya Gephart; three brothers: Kenneth Beals, Leo "Jack" Beals and Clifford "Tip" Beals and sister, Geneva at infancy.

The family has requested private, family only services. Memorials may be given in Millie's name to the donor's favorite charity.
