Lula "Dell" Lynch, 86, of Shelbyville, Illinois, passed away at 5:52 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at the Shelbyville Manor in Shelbyville.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville with Pastor John Curtis officiating. Burial will take place in Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Memorials may be made to the Shelbyville Manor Activity Fund.
Dell was born April 23, 1932, in Daingerfield, Morris County, Texas, the only child of Roy Jeff Jones and Lula Mildred (Barnard) Jones. She married the love of her life, James D. Lynch, on February 26, 1955 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas and he preceded her in death on February 22, 2011.
Dell was first and foremost a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She worked as a caregiver at the Shelbyville Restorium, the Shelbyville School Dietary Department delivering meals to the Westervelt School, the Shelbyville Hospital as a CNA on the OB/GYN ward, and at Crest Container where she retired from Federal Paper Board in 1994. She was a Charter Member of Shelby County VFW Post #4829 Auxiliary, and a member of the American Legion Post #81 Auxiliary. She held varies offices in these organizations at the local and state level. Dell and Jim enjoyed camping with family and friends, fishing, woodworking, and traveling for the VFW.
Surviving are her children: Robert (Millie) Lynch of Selmer, TN and Gary (Julie) Lynch of Shelbyville; granddaughters: Kimberly (Shane) Hecker and Whitney (Jordan) Miltenberger all of Shelbyville; grandchildren: Samantha Lynch and Timothy Lynch of Germany, Krystal McDonald and Trevor Crist of Selmar, TN, Randy Buhrmester of Shelbyville and Rhonda (Neil) Cataline of New Braunfels, TX; great-grandchildren: Jace, Fayth and Tyler of Shelbyville; sister-in-law, Wanda Collins of Mequon, WI and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents and husband Jim.
