June Sullivan Crockett

Martha "June" Miller Sullivan Crockett, 99, of Shelbyville, Illinois, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 12, 2019.

June was born June 15, 1919, in Sullivan, the daughter of Roy and Nonia (Adams) Miller. June and John L. Sullivan were married on March 24, 1940 in Shelbyville and he preceded her in death on September 25, 1996. She then married John "Junior" Crockett on June 7, 2000 in Shelbyville and he preceded her in death on June 16, 2002.

June worked as an LPN at various heath care facilities through the years. She did not let her age slow her down, she was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Shelbyville, volunteered at the Shelby County Senior Center, played music with various local groups, never missed an election, was active on all the current affairs and was proud to still be driving at 99 years of age. She was honored to have been chosen as the Shelby County Volunteer of the Year in 2006. She also enjoyed bowling, knitting and crocheting.

Surviving are daughters: Nona (Richard) Sullivan Jones of Downers Grove and Cathy Thomas of Shelbyville; daughter-in-law, Lila Sullivan of Shelbyville; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, five brothers, one sister, two husbands and son, John Sullivan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Shelbyville with Father Marianna Sathuluri officiating. Burial will take place in Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorials may be made in her name to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or Camp New Hope, 1364 County Road 100 East, Neoga, Illinois, 62447. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville is assisting the family.
