Carol Blythe Obituary

Carol Lou Blythe, 76, of Effingham, formerly of Stewardson, passed away peacefully at 3:38 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Carol was born January 10, 1943, in Stewardson, the daughter of Samuel and Lelah (Blue) Bivins. She and R. Ray Blythe were married on September 24, 1961 at Stewardson United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker who treasured time spent with her loving family, sewing and reading.

She is survived by husband, Ray of Effingham; daughter, Patty (Randy) Renner of Stewardson; son, Brad Blythe of New York, NY; two grandsons: Tyler (Jennifer) Renner of Stewardson and Ryan (Elizabeth) Renner of Strasburg; four great-grandchildren: Carson, Madison, Kinsley and Isabelle; two brothers: Harry and Sam Bivins both of Effingham.

Preceding her in death were her parents; four sisters: Oka Mae Dashenbrock, Delores Kuhns, Kay Blythe and Emma Lee Temple and three brothers: Ralph, Ivan and Charles Bivins.

A memorial service celebrating Carol's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Brummerstedt Funeral Home in Stewardson with Pastor David Ducommon officiating. Memorials in her name may be made to the Stewardson Ambulance Service.
