Orval B.Willis, 79, of Gays died at 3:50 a.m. Monday (July 28, 2008) in St. Johns Hospital, Springfield.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in the Ash Grove Cemetery, Windsor with military rites. Rev. Richard Eident will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home, Windsor. Memorials may be made to the Windsor American Legion Memorial Fund.
He was born April 15, 1929 in Moultrie County the son of Ora and Bessie Barker Willis. He married Flora Mae Mayer in 1955 and she preceded him in death. He then married Dovie Jean Hite in 1994 and she preceded him in death.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Mattoon and served as a corporal in the U.S. Army. He was a retired farmer.
Surviving are sisters, Pauline Howard and Irene Lilly both of Windsor; niece, Linda Morgan of Windsor; nephews, Larry Lilly of Sullivan, Kent Howard of Decatur and Paul Howard of Windsor.
