William C. “Bill” Thomson 88 of Shelbyville, formerly of Findlay, IL, passed away at 12:15 PM Friday July 31, 2009 in Shelby Memorial Hospital in Shelbyville, IL.
Bill was born June 27, 1921 at Thebes, IL the son of Eck and Elizabeth Bankston Thomson.
He married Audrey Wafford Crowell Aug. 14, 1982 in Findlay, IL
He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Findlay, a life time member of the Clarence Bixler American Legion Post # 409 of Findlay.He was a former member and past president of the Findlay Lions Club and was active in Boy Scouts of America.Bill loved flying and held a pilots license.
Bill was formerly employed by the United States Civil Service and was involved in asset management and inventory control.
He served his country in the United States Army Air Force during WWII.
Surviving are his wife Audrey ; sons John Thomson of Indianapolis, IN, Scott Thomson of Dyersburg, TN; daughter Carol Mansfield of Morrisonville, IL; step-daughters: Nancy Stephens of Monticello, IL, Carol Logan of Findlay, IL; Step-son: Alvin Bryson of Huntingburg, IN; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Greta Logan.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Monday Aug. 3, 2009 in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Findlay.Visitation will be one hour before the service on Monday.Burial will be in Wright Cemetery, Findlay.
