Danny Ray Syfert, 58, of Windsor died at 2:00 a.m. Wednesday (November 12, 2008) in the Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home, Windsor. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Ash Grove Cemetery near Windsor with military rites. Memorials may be made to the Shelby County Humane Society or Shelby County Community Services.
He was born October 6, 1950 in Pekin the son of Delbert Ray and Wanda Maurine Benson Syfert.
He served in the US Marines during the Vietnam War and a member of the NRA. He was a farmer and formerly employed at Donnelley’s in Mattoon and Beldon Tree Service in Strasburg.
Surviving are his mother, Wanda Syfert of Windsor; daughter, Amanda Marie Syfert of Pontiac; brother, Larry Syfert and wife, Susan and nephews Alex and Jonathan Syfert all of Lewisville, TX; sister, Linda Debolt and husband, Don and nephew, Kevin Debolt all of Stewardson and nephew, Christopher Debolt and wife, Beth and great-nephew, Caiden Debolt all of Windsor; aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father.
