Willie D. Sloan, 92, of Beecher City passed away at 7:35 p.m. Saturday at his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in Myers Cemetery, Herrick with Pastor Don Miller officiating. Family and friends may gather at Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Beecher City for a procession to the cemetery leaving at 9:15 a.m.
He was born near Beecher City, November 14, 1916 the son of Ed and Eva Lillian (Miller) Sloan. He married Beatrice Elvira Doty in 1935 and she preceded him in death in 2001. He then married Madeline Estelle (Dunn) Showalter and she preceded him in death in 2008.
He was formerly employed at Wagner Castings in Decatur for over 50 years.
Surviving are son, Asa Sloan of Gallatin, TN; daughter, Lora Kinney of Bradenton, FL; step-sons, Dale E. Casey and Larry K. Casey both of Decatur and 3 grandchildren.
