Judy Faye Rhodes-Shrum, 62, of Shumway passed away Monday (October 5, 2009) at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Brummerstedt Funeral Home, Stewardson. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery, near Nokomis. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
She was born March 27 1947 in Shelby County the daughter of Ralph and Thelma (Gillespie) Walls. She married Harley C. Rhodes, Sr. and he preceded her in death in 1984. She then married Kessler Shrum in Effingham.
She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Effingham and retired from Fedders in Effingham after 37 years.
Surviving are her husband, Kessler; children, Jenene Myers of Effingham and Harley C. Rhodes, Jr. of Decatur; mother, Thelma Walls of Effingham; grandchildren, Vincent, Karlie and Kameron Myers; step-children, Kasandra Shrum of Casey and Kenzie Shrum of Sigel, step-grandchild, Dominique Sponsel; sisters, Alberta Freeman of Olney and Catherine Stremming of Strasburg; brother, Charles Walls of Maroa; special family friends, Lisa Dunn of Effingham and Jeff Kashefska of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her father Ralph and husband, Harley.
