Dale Joseph Shaw, 51, of Effingham passed away Friday (February 4, 2011) at St. Anthony’s Hospital, Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Brummerstedt Funeral Home, Stewardson with Pastor Kathy Lewis officiating. Visitation will be one hour before service time. Burial will be in the Stewardson Cemetery with military rites. Memorials may be made to the family or the Lung Association.
He was born January 1, 1960 in Mattoon the son of Bobbie Russell Shaw and Delores May Grove.
He served in the US Navy, member of the VFW in Effingham, United Methodist Church and a former volunteer fireman in Shumway. He formerly drove a truck for Goodlife in Effingham and was a driver for the Effingham Taxi.
Surviving are his mother, Delores Shaw of Effingham; children, Christopher Petty and Jesse Shaw both of Effingham, step-children, Joey Petty of Effingham and Gina LaGrande of Lake Sara; granddaughter, Jessica; brothers, Raymond Shaw of Beecher City and Marvin Shaw of Effingham; step-mother, Linda Shaw of Effingham and special friend, Sally Milton of Effingham.
He was preceded in death by his father.
