Ruby V. Rentfro 77 of Stewardson, IL, passed away at 2:05 PM Monday May 19, 2008 in St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Ruby was born June 10, 1930 in Windsor, IL the daughter of Clyde and Mildred Brown Worley.
She was a member of the Stewardson United Methodist Church where she was an active member of the Women’s Society of Christian Service.
Ruby was a homemaker and formerly worked at the Union 76 Truck Stop and the Ramada Inn both in Effingham, IL. Her hobbies included crocheting, with family being on the receiving end of many afghans and handcrafted items.
She married Dwight Rentfro on June 12, 1949 in Stewardson and he survives. To this union were born four children: Dean (Karen) Rentfro of Strasburg, IL, Keith (Kathy) Rentfro of Stewardson, IL, Diana(Dave)Boyer of Strasburg and Greg (Maile)Rentfro of St. Elmo, IL; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; sister Mary Sweet of Sullivan, IL; cousin Daffol Ott and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday May 22, 2008 in the Stewardson United Methodist Church.Rev. Nadine Preston will officiate.Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday at Brummerstedt Funeral Home in Stewardson and from 10:00 AM until service time on Thursday at the Church.Burial will be in Stewardson Cemetery, Stewardson.Memorials can be made to the Stewardson United Methodist Church.
