Carrie Agatha Rentfro 92 of Cowden, IL, went to meet her Savior at 9:25 pm Saturday Nov. 15, 2008 in St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday Nov. 19, 2008 in the Free Methodist Church in Cowden.Rev. Jon Carrell will officiate.Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday in the Church.Burial will be in Hubbartt Cemetery, near Beecher City.Memorials can be made to the Free Methodist Church of Cowden.Arrangements are by Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden.
Carrie was born Nov. 2, 1916 near Findlay, IL the daughter of Harvey and Alice Allsop Turner.
She married George Woodrow Rentfro in Terre Haute, IN on Feb. 13, 1939.He passed away April 17, 2005.
She was a life-long Christian believer having made that commitment as a young girl and was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Cowden.She was a loving wife, homemaker and mother who devoted her entire life to caring for her family.Her Christian faith sustained her throughout life with her legacy to those who knew her being that she found something “good” in everyone and always put other`s needs above her own.Her primary concern was that her entire family live their lives in such a way that they would all be together someday in Heaven.
Surviving are children: Bernadine Stoneburner of Cowden, Perry Rentfro and wife Linda of Mode, Karen Kay Park of St. Louis, MO, Roger Rentfro and wife Carol of Gadsden, TN, Kevin Rentfro and wife Andrea of St. Louis, MO; brother Jimmy Turner and wife Betty of Decatur, IL; sisters Mildred Miller of Decatur, Wanda Sutton and husband Hubert of Boody, IL, Barbara Pulliam and husband Larry of Decatur, Sharon Christian and husband John of Decatur; grandchildren: Randall Stoneburner of Greenville, IL, Scott Stoneburner of Bloomington, IL, Sterling Rentfro of Atwood, IL, Carla Johnston and husband Larry of Shelbyville, Stephanie Cox of O`Fallon, MO, Christopher Rentfro and wife Renee of Strasburg, IL, Tony Park and wife Teresa of Temple, GA, Ivan Parkand wife Shareda of Temple, GA, Stanley Rentfro of Gadsden, TN, Monica Dillon and husband Josh of Gadsden, TN, Casey Tipton and husband Jonathon of Memphis, TN, Derek Rentfro of St. Peters, MO and Cody Rentfro of St. Peters, MO; twenty-three great grandchildren; thirteen great great grandchildren.
