Allen Duane Primmer, 48, of rural Bethany passed away at 5:54 p.m. Friday (September 25, 2009).

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Findlay with Fr. Don Wolford officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery in rural Assumption. Memorials may be made to the Moweaqua Cub Scouts or the American Cancer Society.

He was born June 4, 1961 in Decatur, the son of Robert H. and Emma Louise (Morris) Primmer.He married Linda Christine Haseltine, May 30 1994 in Las Vegas, NV.

Allen was born a farmer, participating in every aspect of the business. He was a member of the Shelby County Farm Bureau, former member of the Heritage Coop Grain Board and former member of the Pickaway Township Board. He graduated from Findlay High School in 1979 and attended Lake Land College. As a youth his favorite baseball team was the Cincinnati Reds and Johnny Bench was his hero, so it was only natural that he played catcher on the Jr. High and High School baseball teams. He also loved Illini basketball and was a cancer survivor.

Surviving are his wife, Linda; children, Emily Sue Primmer of Charleston, Brayden Allen Robert Primmer and Kaeden Allen Robert Primmer both at home; parents, Robert H. and Emma Louise Primmer of Findlay, brothers, Marc Primmer (Sara) of Moweaqua, Scott Primmer (Martha) of Cerro Gordo; sisters, Patty Evans (Randy) of Indianapolis, IN and Susan Boehm (Dan) of Shelbyville.
