Ronald D. McWilliams 79 of Strasburg, IL, formerly of Joliet, IL and Aztec, NM passed away at 11:40 PM Saturday Oct. 3, 2009 in St Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, IL.
Ronald was born April 24, 1930 in Evansville, IN the son of Harold and Juanita Kuhn McWilliams.
He married Virginia Lee Howell in Dec. 30, 1950 and she passed away in Mar. 27, 1995.
Ronald was a draftsman and spent most of his working life with Bloomfield Refining in Bloomfield, NM
He served in the United States Navy on the USS Boxer during the Korean War.
Ronald was a life member of VFW Post #4829 of Shelbyville and American Legion Post # 9 of Aztec, NM.He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are his three sons: Michael K. (Crystal) McWilliams of Findlay, IL, Patrick L. (Margaret)McWilliams of Joliet, IL and Shawn D.( Victoria) McWilliams of Romeoville, IL; grandchildren: Michael L.(Cheryl) McWilliams, Sarah (Richard) Lewis, Kathryn McWilliams, Martha McWilliams, Patrick McWilliams, Lindsay (Rico) Maldanado, Aimee McWilliams, Ashley (Jason) Carter, Sarah Akers, Douglas Akers Jr., Samuel Goodwin and Jack Goodwin;great grandchildren: Amarilla Maldanado, Kimberly Carter, Wyatt Akers, Michael Sean McWilliams, Keaton Lee McWilliams, Benjamin McWilliams, Riley Lewis, Jacob Lewis and Emily Dyson; brother Gary Dean (Betty) McWilliams of Evansville, IN.
He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Lee McWilliams and his parents.
