Rose E. Mayer, 79, of Windsor, IL, passed away 9:50 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2008 in St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday in the Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home, Windsor with Pastor Cathy Minor officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Ash Grove Cemetery, Windsor. Memorials may be made to the New Beginnings, Breast Cancer Support Group % Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Care Center, Coles Co.
She was born June 29, 1928 in Shelbyville the daughter of Roscoe and Beatrice Hunt Hamilton. She married Alfred Mayer December 14, 1949 in Springfield.
She was a homemaker and affiliated with United Methodist Church, Windsor. She was a 17 year cancer survivor.
Surviving are her husband, Alfred; son, Scott and wife Kelly of Windsor; daughter, Susan of Effingham; grandchildren, Angela and husband Duane of Strasburg, Zachary of Windsor, Nicole of Charleston, Eleni of Effingham and Brandon of Windsor; great-grandchildren, Maggie and Abbie of Strasburg, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
