Blanche D. Lutz, 92, of Beecher City died at 1:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008 at her home in Beecher City.


Mrs. Lutz was born July 22, 1916 in Beecher City, the daughter of James R. and Lucy A. (Devore) Hubbartt. She married Lester Lutz on May 9, 1951 in St. Charles, MO.He died April 13, 1999.


Mrs. Lutz worked with her husband at Lutz Grain Co. in Beecher City for 30 years, until they both retired in 1980.She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Beecher City, taught Sunday School and was a 4-H leader.

She was an avid quilter, loved to crochet and cook and played the piano beautifully. She was well known for her coconut cream pies.

She is survived by a son Roy (wife Dorothy) Aitken of Beecher City; two grandchildren Marsha (husband Lloyd) Kinder and James (wife Robin) Aitken, both of Beecher City; three great-grandchildren Jennifer Brown, Tyler Aitken and Austin Aitken, all of Beecher City; sister Madonna Davis of Beecher City;nephews Marty Davis, and Tom and Chase Phillips; nieces Mitzi Bosecker, Sunitha Bosecker and Presley Phillips; stepsons David Lutz, Dan “Boone” (wife Joan) Lutz, George Lutz, and Lonnie (wife Esther) Lutz; step-grandchildren Sarah, Shawn, Steve, Heather, Josh, Rachel, Haley, Aubrey and Marlee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lester; sisters Wanda Phillips, Thelma Hubbartt, Gaynell Wheeler; step-grandson Scott.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Beecher City with Rev. Jim Williams and Rev. Paul Bauer officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in the Hubbartt Cemetery near Beecher City.

Memorials may be made to Kemmerer Village, a children’s home in Assumption, IL, 941 N. 2500E Rd., Assumption, IL 62510.
