Betty Ruth Lewis, 81, of Pana, formerly of Shelbyville and Murphysboro passed away at 4:29 a.m. Saturday (January 2, 2010) in the Pana Community Hospital
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 17, 2010 in the Pana Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until service time. Memorials may be made to the Pana Church of the Nazarene. Arrangements are by Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Shelbyville.
She was born December 5, 1928 in Forsythe the daughter of Ervie Theodore and Ruth Pearl (Nalley) Ditzler. She married Robert Dwight Lewis May 15, 1948 in Shelbyville and he preceded her in death December 29, 2009.
She was a member of the Pana Church of the Nazarene and formerly employed as a LPN at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Murphysboro.
Surviving are her children, Robert Michael (Janet) Lewis of Wood River, David Kyle (Dawn) Lewis of Millsboro, DE, Patricia Ann (Ray) Hoffman of Sherman, Deborah Lynn (Bill) Brandon of Troy and Charles Edward (Leslie) Lewis of Shelbyville; brothers, Don Ditzler of Savoy and Floyd Eugene Ditzler of Murphysboro; sister, Judith Ann Webb of Carterville; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
