Edmund Hubert Ledbetter, 91, of Windsor passed away at 5:40 a.m. Friday (December 11, 2009) at the Shelbyville Manor.
He was born May 3, 1918 in Effingham, the son of George and May (Hillenburg) Ledbetter. He married Frances Mildred Cullen, May 19, 1947 in Mattoon and she preceded him death, September 30, 2004.
He was a member of the Windsor Christian Church, 50 year member of the Windsor Masonic Lodge, served in the US Navy during WWII and served as Mayor of Windsor for several years. He was a retired electrician.
Surviving are daughters, Patricia Butcher of Worden and Vicki McClaine of Godfrey; sister, Audrey Gullimann of Clearwater, FL; 11 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son-in-laws, John Butcher and Robert McClaine.
Masonic services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home, Windsor with funeral services immediately following. Rev. Richard Eident will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Branchside Cemetery, Gays with military rites. Memorials may be made to the Windsor Christian Church.
