Verneda Loretta Klepzig, 91, of Decatur formerly of Shelbyville passed away at 6:00 p.m. Saturday (September 27, 2008) in the McKinley Court in Decatur.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Shelbyville. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville.
She was born June 1, 1917 in Alton the daughter of Harvey and Margaret Agee Alexander.She married Tony Klepzig April 27, 1974 in Decatur and he preceded her in death May 24, 1993.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and was formerly employed in the candy department of Goldblatts and at Adolf Meyer in Decatur. She loved to crochet, country music and was an avid Cubs fan.
Surviving are one daughter, Judy James and partner, Jesse Marquez of Tucson, AZ; one granddaughter, Danielle Bean and husband, Jason of Bloomington and niece, Barbara Butts and husband Ronald of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Almyra Hughes and brothers Herbert and Frank Alexander
