Leona F. Howard 91 of Findlay, IL, passed away at 7:15 PM Wednesday Sept. 16, 2009 in her home.
Leona was born June 1, 1918 in Muskogee, OK the daughter of George and Grace Breeden Fox.
She married Mordecia (Jay) Howard in 1952 in Reno, Nev., and he passed away May 1, 1988.
Leona was a member of the First Christian Church of Shelbyville.Her life was her family, and she especially loved being a daily part of the lives of her grandsons Nicholas and Kevin.
Surviving are her son Gary Howard and wife Patty of Findlay; daughters: Melissa Lane and husband Kevin of Strasburg, IL and Lucy Smith and husband James of Findlay; grandchildren: Nicholas Howard and Kevin Howard; brother: IkeFox and wife Billie of Lancaster, CA; sisters: Viola Bullof Lancaster, Thelma McCarthy of Lancaster, Christine Lance of Carson City, Nev. And Luvina Wells of Bremington, WA; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jay; parents; brothers: Ellis Fox, Herman Fox and Odie Fox; sister Marie Vissor; brothers-in-law Al McCarthy and Jack Bull.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday Sept. 23, 2009 in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Findlay.Rev. Kevin Ray will officiate.Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday Sept. 22.Burial will be in Findlay Cemetery.Memorials can be made to the First Christian Church of Shelbyville.On line condolences may be directed to the family at www.lockartgreenfuneralhome.com
