Edna Louise (Granny) Hopkins, 93, of Shelbyville went to be with the Lord at 4:50 a.m. Wednesday (October 7, 2009) at the Shelbyville Manor.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Pastor Dave Dolan officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be made to the House of Expectancy Full Gospel Church, Shelbyville.
She was born November 9, 1915 in Heber Springs, Arkansas the daughter of Edward and Grace (Wright) Moore.
Edna (Granny) was a member of the House of Expectancy Full Gospel Church in Shelbyville. She was an ordained minister, evangelist, pastor and ministered the Little Gospel Lighthouse Church in Taylorville in the 1970’s. Granny was a mighty woman of God and loved the Lord, serving him with all her heart. She was a godly example and inspiration to everyone she knew. She healed the sick, raised the dead and saw many miracles. She was a mother and grandmother to everyone.
She had five children, Cletis Hicks, (Pastor of the House of Expectancy) and wife Cecelia, Patsy Lamb and husband Charles and Dixie Hale all of Shelbyville, Darrell Pope of Texas and Mary Catherine Curlin , who preceded her in death; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers, one sister and a host of spiritual grandchildren.
