Norman Gene (Windy) Giberson 82 of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 2:00 AM Monday June 9, 2008 in his home.

Windy was born Dec. 4, 1925 at Holliday, IL the son of Frank and Agnes Montooth Giberson.

He married Betty Rincker Mar. 17, 1997 in Millsville, TN.

For most of his working life Norman worked as a store manager for Okaw Auto Parts in Shelbyville and Hillsboro, IL.He farmed and formerly worked at White Equipment Company and Oliver Corporation in Shelbyville and General Electric Company in Decatur.

He was a 1944 graduate of Cowden High School in Cowden, IL. and served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife Betty of Shelbyville; daughters Kim (John) Keck of Decatur and Penny Johnson of Mt. Zion, IL; step-children: Jacqueline(Richard) Schoby of Decatur and Susan(Richard)Borders ofLovington, IL; grandchildren: James Rutledge of Decatur, Jonathon(Jeanelle)Keck of Decatur, Tasha (Matthew) Hunt of Henderson; NV, Erik Johnson of Mt. Zion, IL; Step-grandchildren: Kimberly(Scott) Blomberg of Chatham, IL, Justin(Angie)Welton of Riverton, IL and Nicole(Matt) Nohren ofMoweaqua, IL; great grandchildren: Jami Keck, Tyler Rutledge and Hanna Hunt; step-great grandchildren: Logan Blomberg, Faith Blomberg, Dylan Welton, Tyler Welton, Hayden Nohren and Whitney Nohren; sister Helen Maxwell of Shelbyville; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Agnes, brothers: Eldon, Dale and Robert and brother-in-law Byron (Barney) Maxwell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday June 12, 2008 in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville.Chaplain Jonathon Keck will officiate.Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday. Military rites will be performed by the Shelby County Honor Guard; Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
