Dorothy Ann Edgar, 67, of Omaha, NE formerly of Shelbyville passed away at 3:30 p.m. Friday (September 19, 2008) in Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, NE.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Brummerstedt Funeral Home, Stewardson with Pastor Nadine Preston officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday.Burial will be in the Stewardson Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Methodist Esterbrook Cancer Center in Omaha, NE
She was born April 8, 1941 in Windsor the daughter of Harry and Mildred Grove Slifer.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Eagles Club. She was a volunteer for the Share Food Program in Peoria.She was formerly employed at NCR in Peoria for 24 years, Shelby County Farm Bureau and retired from Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Omaha in 2006.
Surviving are daughter, Lisa Sample and husband David of Omaha, NE; mother, Mildred Slifer of Stewardson; sisters, Donna Cox of Mattoon, Doris Giesler of Windsor and Debbie Clawson of Effingham; brother, David Slifer of Stewardson and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
