Max E. Clark 77, of Beecher City, IL. passed away at 1:00 AM Saturday Oct. 18, 2008 in Heartland Christian Village in Neoga, IL.

Max was born Aug. 2, 1931 in Cumberland Co. the son of Hugh and Fern Anderson Clark.

He married Betty Ann Reeder Jan. 21, 1956 in Beecher City.

Max was a member of the Beecher City Church of Christ and a life member of American Legion Post # 120 of Effingham.He was an avid gardener.

He served in the United States Army during WWII.

Max was a grain and livestock farmer and was employed by Fedders Corp. in Effingham for 21 years.Later he worked road construction and was a member of Local Laborers Union #695 of Effingham.

He served on the Holland Township Board of Trustees and was formerly president of the Holland Community Club. Max loved to garden.

Surviving is aloving family which includes his wife Betty Ann; children: Don Clark and wife Carolyn of Beecher City, Darrell Clark and wife Rhonda of Cowden, Randy Clark and wife Tina of Effingham and Linda Shairbaum and husband Ed of Ft. Worth, TX;grandchildren: Katie Fulk and fiancé John Dilger, Kari McElroy and husband Thad, Kyle Clark and wife Kendra, Taylor Clark, Teneale Clark, Lance Clark, Jacob Clark, Amber Waldhoff and husband Russ, Cody Clark, Clark Schairbaum and Toni Schairbaum; step-great grandchildren: Nicki Schairbaum and Kaycee Schairbaum; great grandchildren: Zach Apke, Olivia Fulk, Colton McElroy, Paxton Clark and Jayla Waldhoff; brothers: Don Clark and Ellen of Jewett, IL and Charlie Clark and wife Clara Jo of Greenup, IL; sister: Maxine Holsapple and husband Jerry of Greenup, IL; Step-brother: Charles Gray ofGreenup, IL; step sister May Lou Haney and husband Richard of Toledo IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law Vera Kibler and Glenn Kibler.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday Oct. 21, 2008 in the Beecher City Church of Christ.Rev. Dennis Warner and Rev. Kevin Bonifacius will officiate.Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 PM Monday in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City.Burial will be in Hubbartt Cemetery, Beecher City.Memorials can be made to the Beecher City Church of Christ or Heartland Christian Village of Neoga.
