Lydia Mae Boehm, 104, of Cowden passed away at 7:11 a.m. Tuesday (August 5, 2008) in the Heartland Christian Village, Neoga.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday in the Free Methodist Church, Cowden. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Church. Burial will be in Hubbartt Cemetery near Beecher City. Memorials may be made to the Free Methodist Church, Cowden or Heartland Christian Village, Neoga. Arrangements are by Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Cowden.
Lydia was born July 28, 1904 in Holland Twp. Shelby County, IL. the daughter of Henry and Sophie Bruns Brandt.
She married Glen Boehm, Sr. in Shelbyville December 28, 1924 and he died May 5, 1974.
She was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Cowden.She was a homemaker but as a young lady was a Rural Mail Carrier and delivered mail by horse and buggy.She also was a substitute mail carrier. Also as a young lady she was a housekeeper and assisted families in their home.
Surviving are sons, Glen Boehm, Jr. (Pauline) of Westervelt, Harold Boehm (Jane) of Cowden, Everett Boehm (Sharon) of Shelbyville and Ralph Boehm (Carolyn) of Herrick; daughter, Margie Florey (Jerry) of Cowden; daughter-in-law, Viola Boehm of Cowden;31 grandchildren, 88 great-grandchildren and 48 great-great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by parents, husband, Glen, Sr.; son, Walter; grandson, Thomas Boehm; great-grandson, Wayne Whalen; daughter- in-law, Janet Boehm; granddaughter-in-law, Dawn Florey; brother, Alva Brandt; sisters, Minnie Musson, Elsie McCabe, Esther Schultz, Maggie McCosh, Wilma Koontz and Beulah Allen.
