Eldo F. (Dode) Banning, 99, of Cowden passed away at 11:50 A.M. Wednesday (February 9, 2011) in the Shelbyville Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.
Dode was born July 31, 1911 in Shelby County, IL the daughter of Elmer and Anna Meir Koss.
She married Frank Banning Dec. 16, 1933 and he died June 9. 1975.
Dode was a loving homemaker for her family and a doting Grandma and Great-grandma.She was affiliated with the First Christian Church of Cowden.She formerly was a clerk in Johnsons Grocery Store in Cowden and worked for the Cowden Senior Citizens.
Surviving are a son Rodger Banning and wife Kaye of Cowden; grandsons Michael Griffith of Mt Zion, IL and Bradley Banning of Cowden, IL; great grandson Nicholas Banning of Cowden.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank (Copie) Banning, her parents, daughter Inez Griffith and grandson Brian Banning.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday Feb. 12, 2010 in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden.Pastor Tim Boydwill officiate.Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday.Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Cowden.Memorials:First Christian Church of Cowden.Online condolences may be directed to the Family at www.lockartgreenfuneralhome.com
