Betty J. Anderson 83 of Bethany, IL, formerly of Shelbyville, passed at 2:10 PM Friday Nov. 6, 2009 away atSt. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.
Betty was born Jan. 6, 1926 in Shelby County, Illinois the daughter of James Forrest and Ethel Florence Jones Anderson.
Betty was a loving caregiver to her family and friends in their times of need.
She is survived by her sister Pauline Turner and husband Doyle of Tempe, AZ; nieces and nephews: Troy D. (Buddy) Smith and wife Susan of Sullivan, IL, Judy Pritts and husband Ron of Bethany, IL, Susan Marshall and husband Joe of Mt. Zion, IL, Michael Smith andwife Melanie of Bethany, Eddy Dean Scott and wife Kim of Prescott, AZ, Linda Saxon and husband Mark of Phoenix, AZ, Jim R. Anderson and companion Diane of Shelbyville, Norma J. Anderson of Springfield, IL, Merri Lynn Horn and husband Brian of Arlington, VA and La Fonda Young and husband Delmar of Springfield, IL and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Marie Kerney, Ruth Smith, Forrest (Jake) Anderson, Mildred Anderson , a brother in infancy, nephew Frank Hamblen and niece Wanda Lea Karnes.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday Nov. 10, 2009 in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville.Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time on Tuesday.Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville.Memorials can be made to the Shelbyville Chapter of the American Red Cross.On line condolences may be directed to the family at www.lockartgreenfuneralhome.com
