Wilma Noe Payne, 95, of Jackson, TN, formerly of Stewardson, IL, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017 at West Tennessee Transitional Care in Jackson, TN with family by her side.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stewardson with Reverend David Weaver officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will follow at Stewardson Cemetery with military rites by the Stewardson Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to the Trinity Lutheran Church, Stewardson. Brummerstedt Funeral Home in Stewardson is assisting the family.
Wilma, and twin brother William Klepzig Noe, were born July 1, 1921 in Mattoon, IL, to Everett B. and Elizabeth (Klepzig) Noe. She married Wallace Paschke during WWII and later married Walter H. Payne in August 1954 and he preceded her in death in 1976. She was a graduate of Mattoon High School and received her computer training at Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS. She went on to be an IBM Key Punch Operator for Hayes and Ozee in Mattoon, IL, WAC in Dallas, TX and Secretary at The Pentagon, USAF, Scott AFB, Belleville, IL and Computer Programmer and Systems Analyst, USAF, Scott AFB, Belleville, IL until her retirement in 1981.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, LCMS, Stewardson, IL, WIMSA, Women in Military Service to America and NARFE, National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Wilma is survived by daughter Susan Dungey of Jackson, TN; granddaughters Yvonne (Chesterfield III) Brown of Gulfport, MS, and Annette Dungey of Jackson, TN; great-granddaughters Eva Elizabeth Brown, Alana Belle Brown and Sophie Grace Cepparulo and numerous cousins.
Preceding her in death were an infant brother Everett Noe, parents Everett and Elizabeth Noe, stillborn daughter (1956) Constance Elizabeth Payne, husband Walter H. Payne and twin brother William Klepzig Noe.
