Twilla E. Baker, 80, of Shelbyville passed away at 12:50 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield with family by her side.
Twilla was born April 13, 1937, in Conestoga, NY, the daughter of Harold and Sarah (Seaman) Kenley. Twilla and Eugene Baker were united in marriage on August 29, 1957 in Peoria, IL. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary a few weeks before her passing.
She worked for and retired from CTS Knights in Sandwich, IL in 1994. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary all in Shelbyville. She enjoyed embroidering, reading and flower gardening.
She is survived by her loving husband, Eugene of Shelbyville; their children: Don Baker of Sandwich, IL and Mona (Jeff) Campbell of Victor, CO; two grandchildren: Tyler Campbell of Montrose, CO and Chase Campbell of Divide, CO; brother, Eugene Kenley of Centralia; sister, Shirley Wantland of Plano, IL and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents and brother, Donald Kenley.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville with Reverend Andy Sonneborn officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 in Lovell Grove Cemetery in Omega Township. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Shelbyville.
