Joan M. Rhodes

Joan M. Rhodes, 74, of Pana, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 5:08 p.m. at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Joan was born July 30, 1943 in Mulberry Grove, Illinois, the daughter of William and Mildred (Mason) Brewer. Joan and Jerry Rhodes were united in marriage on June 9, 1997 in Pana. She was blessed with a large, loving family who were the light of her life. She enjoyed cooking for her loved ones and renovating homes.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry of Pana; four daughters: Cindy (Leonard) Scholes of Mattoon, Kimberly Coen of Pana, Amy (Todd) Wright of Shelbyville and Holly Smith of Pana; son, Antjuan Ray Rhodes of Pana; siblings: Jim (Patsy) Brewer, Evon (Roger) Funk, Buddy Brewer and Alice (David) Schlosser; seven grandchildren: Stephanie Wright, Whitney (Steven) DeWitt, Kayla Smith, Joshua Wright, Hayley Davis, Alannah Wilderman and Destiny Smith and 11 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, William and Mildred and granddaughter, Megan Wilderman.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Randy Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Burial will be in Twin Pines Cemetery in Pana. Memorials may be made in her name.
