George Pierce, age 50, died on Thursday, April 5, 2018. In the weeks leading up to his death and throughout his life, George was blessed with a loving family and loyal friends. He passed away peacefully under the continual care and comfort provided by the Shelbyville Manor.
He was born on October 27, 1967 in Shelbyville to parents John and Marjorie Pierce. George graduated Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1985 and spent the majority of his working career operating as a skilled welder.
He leaves behind his beloved girls Bailey and Ryann Ambrose. Additionally, he is survived by three sisters and four brothers; Jane Cieplik (Mark) of Champaign, Dixie Ladd of Shelbyville, Guy Pierce (Lesley) of St. Charles, Rick Pierce (Debbie) of Johnstown, Ohio, Mick Pierce (Jennifer) of Nashville, Illinois, Greg Pierce (Cammi) of Shelbyville, and Peggy Pierce (Brad) of Shelbyville. George was also an uncle to several nieces and nephews, all of whom loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Marjorie and his grandparents Dayton and Helen Wagner and Ross and Gussie Pierce.
George could, and often did, bring laughter to every occasion. His humor and humility will be forever remembered as it was certain to bring a smile to the faces of all those who were fortunate enough to know him. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2018 with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Private family burial will take place in Glenwood Cemetery.
