Frances Moore Obituary

Frances Moore, age 91, was residing in Indianapolis IN, when she passed away peacefully on April 14th of natural causes surrounded by friends and family. Graveside service will be held at the Mound Cemetery in Cowden, IL on Saturday, May 6 at 2PM. There will be a reception in Effingham that evening to be announced later. Fran was born during a blinding March snowstorm in Wichita, KS. She was the first daughter of Horace Gibson Campbell, a battery salesman and Consuelo Reed Campbell, a schoolteacher. Fran lived a long, happy, and intrepid life. She earned BA in Sociology and Psychology in1948 from the University of Illinois. While attending the University of Illinois, she met Will Moore, an Army veteran returning from the Pacific War and a native of Cowden IL. Fran and Will were married on January 29, 1949 and remained together for 65 years until Will's death in 2014. Together they raised four children and together lived in Urbana IL, Stillwater OK, Bloomington IN, Indianapolis, Karachi (Pakistan) and Bangkok (Thailand). She is survived by her daughter Ann, sons Scott, Brian and Kevin, sister Shirley and brother Lewis. In lieu of flowers, please make donations of remembrance in her name to your favorite charity.
