Don Nolen Obituary

Don Ulman Nolen, 80, of Stewardson, formerly of Shelbyville, passed away at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Mattoon Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Mattoon, IL.

Don was born April 13, 1937, in Windsor, the son of John and Hazel (Williams) Nolen. He married Pauline Schwenker.

Don was in the United States Army for 22 years and was stationed around the World before retiring from the military. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Effingham.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline of Stewardson; stepdaughters: Christine Snow of Excelsior Springs, MO and Laura Zeitler of Herrick; stepson, Peter Zeitler of Moweaqua; 12 step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepson Lucus Zeitler and six siblings.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville is assisting the family.
