Carolyn Pruemer Obituary

Carolyn "Carol" Fern (Scholes) Pruemer, 73, of Teutopolis, IL, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at HSHS St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL.

According to Carol's wishes, her body will be cremated and no funeral or visitation services will be held. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville is assisting the family.

Carol was born September 20, 1943, in Fayette County, IL, the daughter of Dan Scholes and Dorothy "Luease" (Logue) Scoles and stepfather, Jess Scoles. She married Gerald J. Pruemer on February 27, 1965. Carol worked for many years as a school bus driver for the Teutopolis Unit 50 School District. She loved her "school bus children" who grew up to be her friends. Carol had a unique way about her that drew you in and made you feel special. Once she met you, you were her friend for life. She always had a kind word, was upbeat and encouraging to all. Her son and grandchildren were the light of her world. Her favorite pastimes were visiting with family and friends, squirrel hunting, mushroom hunting and old detective shows. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and anyone who had the joy of meeting her even just once.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Pruemer, of Teutopolis; son, Jerry Dan Pruemer (wife Cheryl); three grandchildren: Zachary Daniel Pruemer, Jacob Andrew Pruemer (wife Holly) and Meghann Leigh Pruemer (boyfriend Nathan Day) all of Effingham; two brothers: Robert Scholes of Norfolk, VA and Charles Scholes (wife Deb) of Altamont; five sisters: Sandra Mace of St. Elmo, Sherry Kirby (husband Clifford "Sam") of St. Elmo, Shirley Brady (husband Tom) of Altamont, Deb Shamhart (husband David) of Altamont and Teresa White (husband Bryan) of St. Elmo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, brother-in-law Fred Mace, sister-in-law Sue Scholes, nephews: Robert McMillian, Steve McMillian and Jared Scholes and niece Kim Seay.

We love you Carol!
